Getting Started
What is Flash?
Flash is a multimedia platform used to add graphics, animations, videos and interactivity to webpages. It uses vector graphics, therefore does not lose any quality when scaled to a new size. Vector graphics are images that are created using mathematical illustrations, and are very small in size.
Why is Flash used?
Flash content is supported by almost every browser, so the users do not have to download and install a player. Flash is also used because it allows interactivity and loads much faster than animations created in a different platform. Unlike other applets, such as Java, Flash does not need any programming skills.
